March 19, 2009 -- A thank you
The editor wishes to extend a thank you to the many readers around the United States and abroad who have phoned and e-mailed offering their support after the arrest incident in Alexandria, Virginia this past Tuesday.
I was particularly heartened by those readers abroad who said they would lodge a protest with the local U.S. embassy.
I have been reminded that the independent media is struggling not only here in the United States but also in the United Kingdom where it is now against the law for journalists to photograph police officers at public demonstrations. I am quite positive that similar legislation may be coming here in the United States.
There are many leads on a number of stories that I am following and the legal hassle in Alexandria will not deter me from following up on those leads.
Thank you again for your support.
